Panoramic roof considerations
Modern panoramic sunroofs are large, multi-panel assemblies with cassette mechanisms mounted beneath the headliner. The glass is laminated, similar to a windshield, meaning it typically remains in one piece when fractured rather than shattering into the cabin. These panels are heavy and the surrounding headliner is sensitive to flex. We handle all lifts with appropriate care, transferring your existing sunshade, motor, and drain tubing to the new panel.
Drain tube maintenance
Every sunroof is equipped with four drain tubes running from the frame corners down through the A-pillars and rocker panels. These tubes are susceptible to blockage from pollen, road tar, and garage dust. When obstructed, water that should drain to the exterior instead pools in the headliner, often manifesting as a wet floor mat months later. We clear all drain tubes with low-pressure air during every sunroof service at no additional charge.
Resealing without compromise
The most common complaint following an inadequate sunroof repair is wind noise at highway speeds that was not present previously. This is almost always caused by a pinched seal during reinstallation or a panel seated fractionally out of flush. We perform a dry fit prior to bonding, verify flush alignment with a straight edge, and conduct a road test before returning the vehicle.
Whether your vehicle has a small inset sunroof or a full-length panoramic panel, we arrive with the correct glass and seals. Contact us to schedule your appointment.
